Hey guys! Here’s my background and then I’ll list a couple questions after. Would really appreciate all advise!
After high-school in 2003, attended liberal arts east coast (great school) for less than a year - left after personal issues. Returned in CC in 2006 in california, working, unsure of direction. Attended on/off for 3 semesters (was not really thinking about it very seriously, just appeasing family. early 20s dummy) - received all As, except for many Ws, and one C (couldn’t W but had a personal issue where I couldn’t finish attendance). Last semester was in 2008.
Now is 2015, 30 years old, want to return to school and finish through Poli Sci, with the hope of transferring to UCBerkley for Poli Sci/Pre-law. How much of what I screwed up almost 10 years ago is going to affect this? I’m serious about returning but I feel like all this stupid stuff I did so long ago will hurt my chances.
Would love any thoughts/recommendations you have - please let me know!
All your. transcripts are part of your permanent record. Are you going to start at a CC to be transfer ready as far as the classes they want to see then you should see a transfer adviser. They know that older students often get their stuff together and more recent cases with As can hep, you life experiences in the last 5 years, your goals etc. You really can’t predetermine if you will get into UCB or not so you need other options as well.
Thanks for replying - having a hard time understanding what you wrote - of course I know that transcripts are part of my permanent record, and I know I can’t predict acceptance to any particular UC (will apply to as many as I need to, just like ten years ago!) I just wanted to ask if anyone had any experience in either explaining or detailing past records and if that has been an issue for anyone.
To your questions: Are you asking if I am transfer ready? Sorry, couldn’t understand!
