<p>Hi, does anyone have any idea on when's the new student orientation for revelle college? Just an estimated time, of course. I have to make airline ticket reservation and the price is going to go up in a few days :/</p>
<p>It’s an overnight, one & a half day long orientation.</p>
<p>You get grouped into small groups with other students that are in Revelle/attending UCSD next year with you. You go on walking tours, take your ID picture, & sit through a bunch of long “lectures” in York Hall where they tell you about the facilities, academics, and more available at UCSD.</p>
<p>I think she wanted more of a date estimate than a description, though? Like, mid-late June, or something. I’m curious as well; though Revelle’s orientation is earliest of the six, right?</p>
<p>Personally I didn’t think the orientation was that helpful (they’re not telling you anything you can’t already find on their website) so if you can go to a Sept orientation right before you move in, it’ll save you $$.</p>
<p>That said, the advantage is that you DO get to meet a ton of your potential friends and have some fun if you go in June, which is pretty nice if you’re new and don’t know people.</p>

<p>They’re scattered throughout the summer, a couple in June, a few in July, and there’s a session RIGHT before school starts if you don’t want to fly to San Diego just for orientation. You move in-early, go to orientation, and then start school.</p>
<p>ahhh ok, so you don’t do any course selection around during orientation right? I thought that you get to meet up with a counselor and do your course selection like most of the other schools.</p>

<p>There is NO course selection during orientation. The counselors will give presentations about GE’s and whatnot but you’ll register online in August with all the other freshmen.</p>
<p>i_lose, Revelle students do not take Writing Composition courses their first quarter at UCSD. The Humanities sequence begins winter quarter.</p>
