Im new here and im not really sure if this would be considered a valid reason.
Let me know what you guys think.

To whom it may concern,
This letter is to appeal the decision that was made about my financial aid qualifications for the Fall, 2013 semester at California State University Dominguez Hills. What prevented me from keeping up with my SAP was major depression. I had trouble getting out of bed in the morning because of problems that I was having at home. My father was having financial problems and was struggling to pay for the mortgage and this put a strain on me and my family. Because of this, my mother and father were close to becoming separated which intensified my depression. I started to pick up more hours at work in order to help my father pay with bills. Because of this, I was unable to put my full attention to my studies and this resulted in grades that brought my GPA down.
Since then my father has become much more financially stable and I was able to leave my job and find another that only required me to work weekends, a few hours a day. I believe that, if approved, I can easily bring my GPA up above the SAP requirements within a semester and I will be able to complete my education at California State University Dominguez Hills.
I really hope that my appeal is given a thoughtful consideration as I wish to continue my studies. Thank you for your time.

Respectfully Yours,
