Revoked Admission

I've run into an issue, which hopefully I can get some help/advice on.
I was concerned about my Fall transfer to riverside a few month ago, after failing a math course. Upon asking if I'd still get in, I received this response from the school. Direct quotes here:

"For your major of English, you do not have to have all of the lower division courses complete prior to transfer. Whatever you do not complete at your community college, you will do at UCR. As for general education, it is strongly recommend that you come in with your IGETC certified from the community college. You can finish up courses for IGETC in the summer, with the exception of Areas 1 & 2 (English and Math). If you come in with out your IGETC certified from the community college, you would just follow our general education pattern here at UCR.

I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact us. Good luck in your courses."

Yesterday the admissions office called me, saying that due to my failure to complete the math course, my admission was being revoked, when they clearly said otherwise before.
Do I have any standing here? Is there anything I can do to contest this decision?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Hi Chris, sorry to hear you’ve been rescinded. Your admission might have been revoked because your failed math class could have caused your GPA to dip below the minimum GPA requirement for transfers. The response you received sounds pretty generic, so I’d recommend directly calling the Transfer Resource Center at (951) 827-5307. Ask to speak with your admissions counselor.

Good luck!

I’d imagine that you’ve already called, Chris, but in the event that you haven’t and this issue is still up in the air, I have a question regarding what the admissions office originally told you.

Was that excerpt from the message you gave here the entirety, or at least the majority, of the message they sent you? Because based upon my reading of that excerpt alone, and since they claimed it was your failure to complete the math class that put your admission in jeopardy, it seems to me that the two areas you MUST complete prior to transferring are English and Math. The portion of the message that gives me that impression is this:

"…it is strongly recommend that you come in with your IGETC certified from the community college. You can finish up courses for IGETC in the summer, with the exception of Areas 1 & 2 (English and Math)."

I could be completely wrong, and this issue may already be resolved, but I wanted to offer what little assistance of which I may be capable. Best of luck resolving this situation.
