Revoked admission

So I'm an idiot and I need help to fix my situation. I got into Davis with a 2.9 and this semester I only took 11.5 units and got a D in Econ 102. My major is anthropology so Econ is in no way related and I just totally ruined my semester gpa with like a 1.7. My overall gpa is a 2.88 now but Davis said that I got a D and my gpa this semester was not good so they revoked my admission. I can't sir to another school. Davis is my dream school and I already found a place with roommates and set up an orientation date. Does anyone have any personal experiences having their admission revoked or have any advice of what I should tell the admissions office? This semester I honestly was just more focused about next year and working to save money for next year because I didn't plan on having a job. I told them I was focused on soccer and my grandma being sick. Should I also tell them that I got into a car accident my first yet of cc and that's why my first year grades were bad? I was left on bed rest for two months during September to mid November because I was immobile but I did not include that on my application. This was my third year of community college. I did all my pre-reqs that my cc offered and I finished igetc so please help. Any kind of advice would be really appreciated

Honestly all the things that happened during your first year don’t account for your grades this past semester. The truth is you had Senioritus this semester, and your grades tanked. The question is, how can you explain your grades this semester to Davis? Reaching back into history won’t help you. They accepted you even with less than stellar grades, so explaining why your grades fell 2 years ago is pointless.

Ask the admissions office at Davis if you can either retake the Econ class over the summer or take a different course to fulfill that part of the IGETC requirements. I don’t know for sure if this will help, but IGETC does require that all courses be completed with a C or better.

I already finished my igetc without Econ 102 I just took it this semester for the units so I could play soccer. I tried to explain that but I think I just sounded more like a dumb athlete than anything.

@2016candles that’s a good point about the past. I really am just reaching because I openly admit how stupid I am and now I’m frantically trying to fix this problem. My excuse of being lazy this semester isn’t going to fix anything though :(

Davis let this be a wake-up call and take your commitments more seriously in the future. For now you may need to fight for your position at UCD but realize that there is supposedly a huge problem with overcrowding at the UCs and CCCs (because of lack of funding . . not that I buy it but take it for what its worth) .

So they should not be creating obstacles to your progressing towards a degree if you have fulfilled your transfer requirements. The only purpose for IGETC is to make the transfer process more efficient, so tell them you want to get in and out to keep space open for other students.

Still, be humble and apologetic and offer to do Econ again over the summer, or whatever they want, but stand firm on taking your place at UCD class of '18. Good night and good luck.
