if you have a feeling that you’re going to get a d or an f in one of your classes…when should you notify the university? if right now a good time…or should u wait intil midterm grades come out or before the final semester grades come out. and if you notify them…does that mean that they would totally take away your acceptance or would they just tell you to go to summer school? someone help!

A bit depends on whether it's a "core" class and the caliber of the university. However what you should be focusing on is doing everything possible to avoid a D or F in that class. Ask about extra credit, try any and everything. Particularly if you fail, it is very likely a college will revoke your acceptance. For now, try to save the grade. If doing so is really impossible, do alert the school and explain the cirmumstances. Make sure that is a last resort.

there are still 15 weeks left to our semester, but i'm still worried

the class that i'm not doing well in is ap calculus bc

If it is of any comfort to you, let me tell you that you are not alone. For the last week, I have seen 3 posts asking the same question, and problems with the same classs Calculus BC. I was gonna ask the question myself. I am having trouble too. Right now I have a 69, and I am not that worried because I will work my ass off to bump it up to a C. You are certainly not alone. Kindda makes me regret y am I taking it my senior year anyways. I already took cal Ap and passed the exam. I bet you feel the same way.

Yeah, i have a D in AP Clculus AB and that is what im worried about T_T

same here, i have a 73 in AP Calculus BC.

i just dont know what to do.........i mean if i ultimately have to tell the college about it, does that mean they will revoke me right away.....

i have a ...45

iseeuann, What is your current percentage in the class?

What school are you worried about?

I was gonna take BC...but my school sucks and wouldnt let me...so I am cruising through AB...ah...the easy life. (I know, I know, doesnt look very good to colleges...)

Plues wat chapter are u guys on anyways? Maybe we can help each other out. I am on series.

An F might get you revoked...but they may give you the option of taking the class over the summer and starting freshman on Academic Probation...With a D, they should just put you on Academic Probation to start freshman year...This all depends on what college you are talking about (thats why I asked in my last post...).

We finished the book...... now we're reviewing for the AP test (out of AP review books), and as a result, we have opportunities for grade inflation. All the series stuff, Euler's method (which we only covered lightly) and errors were a big pain in the a**.

And I thought I was worried about my 83 in AP Physics (currently lowest grade so far, but it could drop at any time seeing as the next test seems challenging).

I've got a 78 though we finished with all material early this month.

Wow!! u guys already finished and are reviweing!!!! And I thought we were go way too fast!!!! WOW!! we still got vectors to do and series to finish. If u doing good, got any tips on how to do good?

One thing you do have to keep in mind is that my teacher assumed that some topics will not be covered on the AP test (e.g. including vectors, but we encountered one problem in the review book), but for the most part, COVER EVERY TOPIC IF YOU CAN.

Last year, the very last question on the AP Calc. AB test was a slope field (including a part with separation of variables).... something my teacher forgot to cover, but I actually remembered enough material to get that question correct.

to answer the questions
i have a 50%
we're still on series too
and i'm looking at either uci or ucsd

ohh I see, yea last year our teached covered the slope field. And my BC teacher just covers everything, even the stuff not on the ap. he even covered the work chapter. anyways, i am doing so bad:(

I read somewhere that if you end u getting a D or F in your senior year, you have to send them a written explaination(for UCs). I donno if you need to send it when they ask for transcripts or now, perhaps someone can anwer that for u. But I would only think of that as a last resort, try to bring your grade up, and if you can't try to think of a Very Good excuse on y u got an F or a D. Don't give up, it is not a gurantee that they will revoke. plue one more question, Did you already take Calculus AB?

i actually was in a program geared at my school for seniors to take calc bc. my junior year i had math analysis 1st semester and calculus a second semester. my school also offers calculus ab alone, but when i was a sophomore i had finished alg 2 in one semester and trig in the next...so it was a fast paced track that got me into a deep hole =
