I asked a GPA calculation question and I don’t think I was clear in what I was asking. What if one school is a 2.0, the next a 1.5 and the last a 3.0. How would they calculate my final GPA? The current school I am attending did not take all my credits from my previous schools, but the University I am transferring to may take my other credits from the other schools I went to. So I guess my Ultimate question is how will the University calculate my GPA when transferring from state colleges (in-state).
Simply put, how admissions officers calculate several college GPAs when looking at an applicant is not exactly known. However, the three GPAs that are on each of your submitted transcripts WILL be looked at. And, of course, the low GPAs that you currently hold will hurt you.
What you could do is call the University’s admissions office, and ask. Worst case scenario, they’ll politely tell you to go away. Best case scenario, you may receive some insight on how those GPAs may be looked at.
Best of luck!
