My D is transferring into Fordham as a jr this fall. She was not required to take a core curriculum at her prior college so she has to take many of those core courses now-- Philosphy, Theology and History, hence a heavy load.
Any input about professors to look for and/or avoid for these required core theology, philosophy or history courses?

Thanks,
Ann

I suggest registering for courses that have multiple attributes (they fulfill more than one core requirement). For example an advanced history class might also have a globalism attribute, so advanced history and globalism are both checked done. However, these classes are hard to get into as many students register for them and they close up quick. It is possible to get a departmental and/or dean override to get into them, but she would need to go to their offices and present a strong case. (In this case, that she is a junior transfer). Another option is to take summer classes.

I’m not sure if I can give you specific professors to keep in mind, their teaching methods and workload all vary greatly. It also depends on your D’s preference.
