The email they just sent out stated that ED applicants should expect their financial aid decisions and admissions decisions on 12/12/2019 after 5 P.M. C.T.
On a Thursday??? Spicy!
Maybe Rice wanted to avoid Friday the 13th. Good Luck to all awaiting ED results. Please post general comments/questions etc in this thread and results only in the Rice 2024 ED Results thread. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/2165995-rice-2024-ed-results.html#latest
May I ask a question?
Rice ED results will be released on December 12, and my daughter’s on campus interview will be conducted on December 16.
How is this explained?
Did she apply ED or RD or for the Baylor Med/Rice program?
She applied ED to the engineering department.
Students usually schedule the on campus interviews, not the school. If she is deferred to RD, she may want to go to the interview. If she is admitted ED she should cancel it.
2 more days…can’t wait!
What are some common extracurricular activities for pre-med students to pursue at Rice?
A lot of them volunteer at local hospitals or for Camp Kesem, or do research, but outside of that, it depends on the person.
Anxiously waiting for Thursday’s ED - in your opinion - would Rice look at financial aid eligibility/Fafsa before accepting a student or after?
Perhaps after accepting a student
Rice is need-blind for all applicants other than international ones, so your financial aid information is only evaluated after you’re admitted
The hype is building––only 20 hours left!!
The hype . . . . or the anxiety?!?!
@FingersCrossOwls They don’t make decisions based on financial need, but they do look at the FAFSA and CSS profile before they release decisions so people can see what their aid package is.
Good Luck to everyone waiting for ED results today. Please post your results in the results thread.
That is what I’m thinking too. The reason I ask is because our family was asked to provide a missing document so her financial aid eligibility could be evaluated. I’m hoping that means that she is accepted.
Good luck, everyone! I remember how exciting this was when my DS#1 got his ED decision!!
4 HOURS LEFT…Pray for the Best!
