<p>I recently visited the campus, and at the information session, they gave me median SAT scores on a 1600 scale, which led me to assume that they don't take SAT writing into consideration; however, they require the writing portion of the ACT test if you're going to submit the ACT. So then, do Rice admissions counselors take SAT writing scores into consideration?</p>
<p>Rice admissions counselors do consider SAT writing scores into consideration. Most universities haven’t updated their SAT 1600 scale yet as the writing portion has to be out for a few years of testing before it is officially considered and put into the school’s SAT data.</p>
