Have any statistics been provided yet? Any idea of how many people applied this year? Other schools have already released some stats (e.g. Stanford: http://news.stanford.edu/news/2016/march/admit-admission-announce-032516.html)
I think I read somewhere that Rice in particular doesn’t really enjoy releasing statistics like this. At least it’s not their priority.
Here are the numbers for the class of 2019. The class of 2020 isn’t posted yet, perhaps because the school doesn’t have final enrollment figures yet.

I noticed that at the end of February of 2014 Rice released the number of applications received for the class of 2018:

But the following year, it was not until early April that Rice released the number of applications received and (at the same time) the number of those accepted for the class of 2019:

There seems to be no consistent pattern as to when Rice releases this information.
@Maximilias I think that they normally release the information after they send out admissions. But in 2014 the number of applications increased significantly, so they published a news release just for that (before waiting for actual admissions).
grreat, that makes sense. I guess then since admissions are out, they’ll soon release the info about the number of applicants and the number of accepted applicants.
