I can't find the thread, but could someone please give me the information on the changes to the drinking water at Rice and when they will happen? I think there was a link in the original thread for the info, but don't recall.

Thanks.

yes it is, thanks. however the link no longer goes to the article. so, is it just one water fountain that will be filtered or is it that all water fountains will be? so currently the safest choice is to use bottled water?

when will the filtered water be available?

thanks

All of the colleges have reverse osmosis water dispensers, which I believe removes anything bad although I’m not sure exactly how it works. I’m sure someone here could explain it. I’ve always been a tap water kind of person, and Houston water tastes fine to me, and I can tell you that the radiation that article talks about won’t make you sick in 4 years. I guess we’ll have to see what it does to me in the future.

Also, all of the serveries have filtered water available. So if you’re not a tap water person, not a big deal. Also, many people keep Brita filters around so that they can just fill a pitcher from a tap upstairs in their colleges instead of going to the central filter. But there is certainly filtered water available. That article was just about a water bottle filling station in the student center. The goal of that was to provide an easy place to refill reusable water bottles in order to cut down on the amount of bottled water used.
