I plan on majoring in either the humanities, the social sciences, or business and really like both schools. I've been admitted to the school of business at gtown but might think of transferring to either college or the school of foreign service if it's possible. I listed the School of Social Sciences as my preferred school at Rice. Although there might be a bit more prestige in the Gtown name on the East Coast (I'm from NJ), I really like the academic (focus on undergrads) and social environment (residential colleges, school traditions, Oweek) at Rice and feel Gtown might not be able to compare. Can any of you give me a list of the pro and cons of each school. I would love to know more about Georgetown as a school. Any advice would be great!

really, they’re peer schools. it’s just a matter of which culture you like more (northeast preppy at gtown vs. more southern feel at rice). in terms of pure academic interest, georgetown might be a better fit just because they have the business school, whereas rice does not. i wouldn’t worry about the names, rice has always been a fantastic school, and recruiters will respect that.

I am considering Rice as well and certainly am interested in anyones opinion.
sz1336 did you post on the Rice board as well?
