So I’m getting to the point where I start to finish up my application. I have a few ideas for the Box, let me know which one you like the best:
I have collected pens and pencils since elementary school, so I was thinking about lining them up and taking a picture.
I have an old cassette tape that belonged to my father from when he was in college. The cover of it has some of the names of the song in my native language.
Do I need to come up with something else?

I have talked about my parents in one of my essays, so I guess the tape fits in with that. For the pens, it was more of a symbolic thing.
There is no right or wrong answer. Do what feels right to you. Rice wants to see what makes you tick. If you search some Rice Box threads in the Rice forum on College Confidential, you will find that people upload all kinds of things such as pictures of their pets, things they’ve designed, poems, pictures of places they’ve been, etc. Reading through the threads might clarify your decision. My daughter, who is artistic, was applying to the School of Humanities. She drew a picture with a lot of her favorite literary quotes imbedded in the artwork and scanned and uploaded it.
