@gettingaclue yes, they just haven’t posted decisions yet. But someone called admissions and said that tomorrow is finally going to be the day!! 
Well just got rejected to USC. I was pretty sure I’d get in there. Sorry if I sound bitter, but this is the third college with essays I thought I had a good shot at, so it’s indicating that my essays are quite bad and there goes my chance at Rice. The SAT needs to be harder so that a high score actually means something…
Just got regent & chancellor award from Cal. So no more Rice for me. no more waiting. yay!! Good luck to the rest of you. Hope to see some of you who will be going to Cal as well.

Just denied from UC Berkeley with a 2340 SAT and (in my opinion) medium to strong ECs… Don’t think i’ll make it to Rice anymore

@rango141 Don’t lose hope. I know a friend with a 2400 / 4.0 who won a bunch of high-level hackathons and built a couple of companies off of his ideas, who got straight out rejected for EECS @ Cal. For reference, he got a half-ride at USC. I guess what I’m trying to say is that the admissions process is so damn random - can’t predict Rice based off of Cal
@rango141 Just remember that Rice gets less than a quarter of the number of applicants that UCB gets and that honestly does matter, in my opinion. It’s really hard to get into some place like UCB even if you have high stats because you’re fighting against 75,000 others applicants for it.

I’m a current student, '18. Last year they were released at 5 pm on the 29th (the Friday before).
I got rejected at Duke too, but accepted at Carnegie Mellon yesterday.
