I haven’t visited either of them either haha. I plan to do that when and if I get in.

It is my understanding that selective schools will figure GPA by factoring only core classes (math, science, english, history, language) and not factor in electives (unless they are an elective core class), religion, fine arts and PE. My son’s school does not rank and he was just admitted to WashU.
Any word on the decision release date yet?
@gossipgirlxoxox the wait is KILLING ME…
Based upon the thread below, Rice RD notifications may be out as early as March 23rd.
Was the 19th prediction dismissed?
The 19th would be fantastic but I think they’d give us a little more warning…
Does anyone know of anyone who was accepted through Questbridge? My son was not a finalist but received an email from Rice to apply.
Does anyone know how this works–in past years has Rice announced a notification day in advance, or did they just release decisions?
@kuleczka As someone that applied ED, they didn’t announce an ED release date. (It was a bittersweet surprise lol (deferred)). I believe the estimates on CC are as close as anyone’s going to get.
It’s probably not healthy for me to be checking the portal twice everyday lol. Just several more days…
Well I called today to ask a few questions on finnacial aid and the person on the phone told me decisions would be out in 2 weeks. Not sure if this is just the standard fodder or if he was serious.
I’m sure it’s just standard fodder; that equates to April 1st. And it would be quite a pleasant surprise to one day just find that Rice had posted decisions.
@vegaslauara What do you mean by accepted though QuestBridge? I was a QB finalist but was not matched. However, I applied to Rice through QB and was admitted.
Yes, can you clarify @vegaslauara ? I went through the same experience as @nebhar97 . I was a finalist but didn’t match with any of 3 schools. But I didn’t rank Rice for the college match process. When the decisions came out for college match and I wasn’t matched, Rice emailed later that day asking me to apply RD and shortened my application. Then later I was accepted (‘likey letter’ through VISION program).
@nebhar97, @emenya – my son was not a finalist yet two days after the finalist list was out, he received an email from Rice inviting him to apply. He thought that since they asked him to apply there was some interest there. Please advise
If your kid was invited to and attended Vision, is that equivalent to a Likely Letter?
@Bordertexan Yes, receiving an invite to Vision is a very strong indication of acceptance.
Just throwing it out there but I would sincerely love to be attending Rice… The school is just way too great.
Agreed.
