Does anyone else want to be accepted to Rice? I decided when I applied that I didn’t want to be rejected.
My kid says he will make a final decision on where he attends after he gets the financial package from Rice. I did inform him he has to be officially admitted before he gets any FA package. Since he went to Vision, he assumes he’s in.
Does anyone know when FA is announced?
I’m going to explode if this takes any longer… :-&
@1203southview I believe the financial aid officer at vision said it would be included in the acceptance package. It may arrive later if you submitted idoc information pass the deadline
Does anyone know which day the results will be coming out?
I think that decisions will come out on Monday the 23rd, seeing as last year they came out on Monday the 24th.
If I applied with a fee waiver because of my SAT Subject Test scores is that a good sign? I’d love to go to Rice if they want to take me 
@newguyontheblock unfortunately, that’s not really indicative of anything. However, I would think that does mean your subject tests were rather good, which can help your application. Ultimately, I don’t think there are any hints as to whether or not we will be accepted; we’ll just have to wait until Monday or Tuesday to see whether or not we got in! But here’s hoping for the best for all of us!

My daughter waived her fee and got an interview. She doesn’t think she went though the interview well because that was her first college application interview. She didn’t get an invitation to Vision but she did get an email on 2/9 from admission office
saying that “Rice ranks in top 100 international universities in the world…” which every Rice applicant already knew. Did every Rice applicant get the same email like that?
@FrustratedDad I got that email as well. I don’t know for sure, but if I had to guess, I would think that everyone on Rice’s mailing list received it - it looked to me like a general recruitment email.
I’ve been accepted to other schools now, but Rice is still like my top choice. I didn’t get invited to Vision and I don’t know, I’m not feeling very confident about my application right now. Hopefully the letters will come out on Monday so that I don’t have to stress much longer.
Visions is only for URMs, so there’s still hope! @kwebb33

@FrustratedDad Just a guess, but I would think it would have to do with maintaining interest and protecting their yield rate. While it may have only gone to people who applied, I’d imagine it’s in the hopes that it encourages people who are accepted come.
Do you all have a request in IDOC for Rice? Wondering if a request is a sign…
