<p>As with all common app schools, Rice requires a School Report from your counselor which includes a recommendation section. Two teacher recs are permitted. You really ought to create a common app account and get started, if you are a senior.</p>

<p>thanks! I already finished the common app and everything else but I was not sure about the school report. Is the school report the same thing as the mid year report? Also, is the school report something I have to ask the counselor to do or do they usually just electronically send it themselves?</p>

<p>on my common app it shows his name and says that the school report has not been started. Do I assume he will he do it himself, or do am I supposed to print out the form and give it to him?</p>

<p>You need to talk to your counselor about this. Don’t make assumptions about what he will do. Explain how eager you are to go to Rice and make sure he has received the invitation email from the common app. Be sure you understand whether he will be submitting electronically or on paper. If he doesn’t want to submit online, you will need to print the reports for him. Same advice is true with respect to the teacher(s) you have invited to give your recommendations.</p>

<p>The school report is not the same thing as the mid year report. If your counselor completes and submits the school report before your first semester grades are finalized, he will also need to submit the mid year report providing those grades to Rice.</p>
