I have a 3.5 GPA with a 4.1 weighted. I take very rigorous course work, including many APs, I have overcome poverty, depression, and bullying. And my SAT is around 1900 and ACT with writing is a 31. I was wondering if anyone with similar statistics has gotten into Rice University or do I have a chance.
I also have very good EC’s and started my own club from scratch.
Rice is a tough school, so I’d say your chances are pretty up in the air. Just from your numbers, though, I will admit that Rice probably wants something more (i.e. 3.9+ GPA, 2100+ SAT, etc.) You still have a little bit of time to get those up, however, and if your essays are genuine and passionate, you could still have a good shot. Also, Rice really considers demonstrated interest, so make sure you visit the school and accept an interview if offered one when you apply. Good luck!
