Rice & UT EE?

<p>Hi all...I'm an asian male, instate. I'm only truly considering Rice and UT for electrical engineering and I know I'm pretty set for UT as far as admissions so I guess this just boils down to a Rice chances post. I'll probably apply Interim at simply because I'm not 100% sure....what are my chances?</p>

<p>*Did San Antonio PREP (PreFreshman Engineering Program) 8 weeks a summer for three summers. Upon graduation of the program (Summer after freshman year) I got a scholarship of $10,000 over four years or $12,500 for five years if I did engineering at St. Mary’s.</p>

<p>*Attended Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) over summer 2004 for three weeks, took a class in Political Philosophy.</p>

<p>*Interned at the University of Texas San Antonio Health Science Center over the summer after junior year. Worked in a lab that focused on cancer research in the Cell and Structural Biology department.</p>

<p>*Over 150 community service hours through Key Club/ tutoring / volunteer chess lessons for children / random events.</p>

<p>*Job: Work at a Kumon Math & Reading Center doing grading and data entry.</p>

<p>Essays are going to be extremely good, and recommendations should be very strong as well.</p>

<p>ronald reagan high school. I dunno, I'm just worried because I hear they even turn down valedictorians...and I'm no where close to that.</p>
