I was fortunate to have been recently admitted to Rice University’s Class of 2021 under Early Decision. However, my grades are declining relative to my previous year’s gpa of 4.0. This year, I took 4 AP Classes and am expecting an overall gpa near 3.0 or 2.8. Will this be an issue to my acceptance?
@owlman17 Well my son got in with a 3.95 unweighted gpa. He had two b’s for semester grades. It went from a 4.0 to 3.95. Which mean it didn’t go down very much. What were your last semester grades?
I am guessing they must of seen your first quarter grades because my son had to send them. So maybe it was quarter 2 plus midterms. It seems like to would take quite a bit to go as low as you said.
My school runs on a semester system, so I’m not sure if quarter grades were seen. I recently called Rice Admissions counselor and they basically said there is a no firm recension policy, as students are reviewed on a case by case basis.
