Rich Rod could be out come Monday

Dee Hart is the highest 4 star recruit right now. One more good game with Dr. Phillips and he will be a 5 star.

Only if they have the grades … so says Coach Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is a pretentious hypocrite, who after enjoying his time at Michigan, chose to bite the hand that fed him.

[College Football Blog: Jim Harbaugh Disses Michigan](http://michiganzone.blogspot.com/2007/05/jim-harbaugh-disses-michigan.html).

Given his comments it’s hard to see how he views Michigan as his “dream job”. Besides, with the success his brother has hand in the pros I find it much more likely that he would jump to the NFL.

As for RichRod, only the truly blind can’t see that the offense works:

Iowa 8th ranked defense at the time, Michigan 580+ yds offense
Illinois, 12th ranked defense at the time Michigan 630+ yds offense

It’s the defense folks. If they simply could get to be ranked around the 50th best in Division 1 they be 10-1 going into today. The offense will keep them in most every game, the current defense will lose them most every game against good teams. I have no idea if RR will be back next year, but I’m pretty sure that the “analyst” at Rivals.com doesn’t know that answer either.

Dee Hart scored 6 TDs in his game yesterday…what are you talking about? He’s amazing!

But we know this offense will be good if RR stays. It’s the defense that makes us wonder what he’s doing.

Brandon should at least make RR gut all of the defensive coaches and bring in people who can recruit and teach technique well.

Most on the West Coast would disagree. The man is the epitome of arrogance. I attend a Pac-10 school with a struggling football team (though I should mention that it isn’t Cal, so I’m not biased), and even I’d think twice before wanting him representing my university.

Our offense has looked good this year (minus all the fumbles). But, I think offense should be measured by points scored, not yards gained. I don’t care if our team under Rodriguez can score 55 points on a high-school team, I care if we can score 55 on the toughest teams in our schedule. After Rodriguez takes over, do you see a significant difference in points scored against top teams? I don’t. UM scores are bolded (I might have made a few mistakes).

Even this season only has 31 maximum, not very different from 2003-2007

The problem with a gimmick offense is that against good defenses (Iowa, Wisconsin and OSU), it cannot score. Wisconsin was leading 24-0 before we started scoring and OSU should have its way against us today. A good defense just needs to contain DR and it is over.

As for Defense, RR is truly incompetent and will not hire a man who is actually better at coaching Defense. Ergo, as in all the teams he has ever coached, Michigan will never have a dominant Defense. His entire career has been laced with teams with explosive but inconsistant offenses and weak defenses. Initially, I thought it was because the conferences he coached in did not require strong defensive sides to succeed (though in the Big 10, the first step to success is a dominant Defense). Who on Earth insists on a 3-3-5 scheme in a conference such as the Big 10, where 90% of the teams run pro-style offenses anchored by power Offensive Lines and bruising backs? Our Defense has suffered some injuried and many defections. However, that does not explain why we are among the 10 worst defenses in the nation three years in a row. Defense simply isn’t a priority for RR.

Anyway, the way things are going now (trailing 24-7 to OSU at the half), I am fairly sure RR is going to get the pink slip tomorrow morning. It is time we move in a different direction.

Disgraceful.

I know it’s not the reason we lost but some of those calls were ridiculous.

Thank you OSU. With this lovely loss (OSU could have scored another TD at the end making the score even more humiliating), I think it is evident that RR is out of his depth at Michigan. Our AD has little choice but to fire him now…or better yet, ask for RR’s resignation.

Rich Rod is 0-12 against Big 10 teams that finished the season with a winning record since he started coaching at Michigan…

Fire him!

Awesome… I can’t wait to go another few years of a coach trying to get his players again

I don’t think we will have to. Switching from a spread to a pro-style isn’t as difficult. Defense changes will not require as much transitioning either.

MLDWoody, a good coach can turn a program around in 2-3 years. With the talent Michigan has (and the draw it holds to blue-chip recruits), a good coach can easily have a 7-5 season his first year, a 9-3 season his second year and content for the Big 10 championship his third year.

He should not be fired. Who would Michigan bring in? If UM got Harbaugh it’d be another 2-3 seasons of blowing it while trying to make the transition to Harbaugh’s power offense.

RR should be fired. Not firing him is ignoring the problem. They aren’t getting better under him. They’ll eventually have to accept that RR’s style of play simply won’t work in the Big 10. Better to accept that fact sooner than later, and move on.

Harbaugh is at the end of his contract at Stanford. For Michigan, it is the prime time to reel him in. At first I wanted them to keep RRod and fire GRob and see how next year goes, but what if it doesn’t work? Harbaugh will probably be gone to the NFL or some other college team by then.

The only offense hat works in the Big 10 is powerhouse running. Northwestern had the #2 offense with a spread a couple years back, did they do anything special? nope. Yards do not equal points. If they did, we would be dominating. Our offense just cannot put up points, which is all that matters at the end of the day.

Wisconsin is shining with that powerhouse offense. So is osu and so was iowa before they started losing.

As for the defense, we cannot blame everything on youth. We had 3 years to develop a defense, but it continually got worse when it was supposed to get better. 3 years! Year 1 was the worst defense in history. Year 3 was even WORSE.

BRING IN HARBAUGH. At the very least we will have a better defense, even if our offense is set back for a year or two.

Harbaugh may not be the sollution. The should look at all the options and bring in a young and energetic coach who has a good track record, motivational skills and an understanding of Big 10 football.

RR will either be fired this year or after next season, but either way, as long as he is at the helm, we will continue to have a one-dimentional (albeit exciting) offense that can only score on mediocre defenses and a declining defense of our own. Better end it now and look for a coach who can lead Michigan better.

I agree. I wouldn’t want someone like that representing U-M.
