UCB, you should be grateful, we are taking JH off your hands. Now Cal can maybe start winning again. ;)

Alexandre: “It is pretty much known that Harbaugh is leaving Stanford. Where to is the question? Is he staying in College and therefore taking the Michigan job or will he move to the NFL and take the 49ers job? We’ll know in the coming week I suppose.”

Or, take the Denver Broncos job, OR get his current deal at Stanford significantly increased?

jshain, I don’t think Stanford can offer Harbaugh as much money as Michigan (I am expecting a $3 million/year package) and certainly not as much money as the NFL.

The Bronco is also a possibility, but I think it will come down to the 49ers and the Wolverines.

Rich Rod is out

If Michigan doesn’t get Harbaugh this will look like they’re hitting the panic button. Good luck to your athletic director.

I would be really surprised if Harbaugh went to the 49ers. I am a native S.F. bay area guy and have seen first hand the deterioration of that franchise since the Eddie DeBartolo days. The ownership in S.F. is just not the same as the previous regime.

It would make a lot of sense if Harbaugh DID go to Michigan and run a pro-style offense. HS kids who are top prospects to play pro ball would flock to Michigan, even more so than Stanford imo, because they have s slightly lower academic bar than Stanford. It is amazing what Harbaugh was able to achieve at Stanford, given their academic standards.

Ya, it’d be nice to get a coach that knows how to recruit WITH academic standards. No SEC coaches here please.
