Hey everyone I'm a bit conflicted because I need to choose between RISD's computer animation program and Vanderbilt's and I was wondering if you guys could give me any information about your experiences, what you like/dislike about the programs here at RISD, and how you think they compare to other programs/art schools you applied to. I'm mostly interested in information regarding the computer animation program here at RISD, but any information you have about the general art programs besides computer animation would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thank you and I look forward to reading your responses!

I think one of the main differences you would notice is that RISD has a much more liberal culture and Vanderbilt is more conservative. I was a fine arts major at RISD and don’t have specific experience with the computer animation program, but I can say that in general RISD is fairly counter-culture. I’d say if you’re a little more unusual or “out there” you’ll be more comfortable at RISD whereas if you are a more traditional person you may prefer Vanderbilt. Of course there is a significant difference in the climates too. They are both great colleges, so congratulations on having such a plum choice to make.
