I'm from a pretty good highschool (school system recently picked as in top 100 in US) its small but good for southwest virginia.
I haven't taken sats but practice tests from my kaplan prep book gave me M:750 V:720. I have a 4.125 weighted, 4.0 unweighted and i think i'm #1 in my class of about 100. The only weighted classes my school offers to freshmen and sophomores are honors earth science and biology.

This year i'll be taking 7 classes all advanced but one and five 5.0 classes including APUSH AP Comp Sci and AP Art history, which should be the toughest schedule of anyone in my class.
My school offers 6 AP classes plus online classes. Right now i'm planning on taking 6-8.

ECs.
I'm cofounder of the Radford High School Gay-Straight Alliance club and i'll be doing a lot of work with that regarding an amendment to the VA const.
I'm also considering starting a public service club to get students out and volunteering. I'm a member of several clubs but not really taht active.
I played JV football for 2 years and i'm going to run cross country for two years. Marching Band 3 years-section leader. Indoor track 2 years, outdoor track 1 year. Member of state champion Scholastic Bowl team and member of two championship MACC teams (local team academic competition in SW VA)

This summer
This summer i've worked 70-80 hours at a local soup kitchen and 8 hours for a local community charity org and thats going to go up a little too. I spent 1 week on a mission trip building houses in a poor area in KY. And three weeks at Regional Governor's School where I worked in a team on a college scientific research project for which I earned 4 college credits.

So yea thats basically it. I plan on continuing my volunteer work and I plan on apply to the VA state governors school at the university of richmond next summer.
I dont really have any special talents or abilities or anything to make me stand out. I think i'm just going to go the community service route. I dont really have a lot of money to spend on expensive summer programs (governors school is state funded).
The only hardship about my family is that my mother battled a drug addiction for a couple years and recovered, otherwise i'm just a white suburban guy.

sorry that was so obnoxiously long. Am i doing ok? Is there anything i should change or consider doing?
