Thanks for all the help!!!

I know Im young but Ive been on the forum for over two years and think ive finally reached the point where my stats MAY be able to be predict my college acceptance.

If you have been on these forums for 2 years, you should be able to predict your own chances as well as any other non-adcom posters on this forum.

and I think we can both agree that as long as you keep this up, all your college responses will be made up of epic win.

note: if you really want to go to wharton, apply early decision. It helps.

bump. 10char.

anyone else?

Yeah I agree with gqunit. You’re on the right track, just keep it up.

yeah but I don’t know if you should apply to wharton ED, unless you really, really want to…because you could probably even get into harvard/stanford with the rate you’re going

what’s your rank?

Um..am I the only one who thinks the PSAT scores are a bit low? Everything else is absurdly strong though.

Bump up that PSAT score and make NM. And yeah, don’t neglect studying hard for the SAT.

thanks for the responses… my school doesnt rank they do it by top 10%, top 25%, top 50% so I will most likely be top 10%, yea my goal is to try and raise each of my sections of the psat/sat to above 700 and keep my gpa 3.9+..

Everything is perfect, but judging by your past PSAT scores, you will have trouble on the PSAT and SAT. Study as much as possible, including taking as many practice tests as possible.

Keep in mind that the SAT content is much more difficult than that of the PSAT.

haha are you sure you can handle those aps? i would think it would be easier to self study for some than take a bunch of ap load. you would be taking 15 aps. iunno from where im from thats a lot of work, cause my one ap class gives a load of work all year. so usually people only take a max of 4 in my school. and yea psat not looking so hot. any sports?

lol yea our school offers every ap except like computer science and to stay competitive you have to take a minimum of 3 ap’s junior year and 5 senior year… its killer…played jv baseball freshmen year but thats it

That is a crazy amount of APs!!

Don’t be so surprised with that number of APs, it’s quite normal for that school where everyone will AP whore since APs really are not tough at all and are nowhere near the level of APs at some of the northern schools. How can you even have a chance when he’s not even a junior year and hasn’t taken SATs? Many things can vary just by that.

I know people at that school who have taken over 17 APs and still didn’t get into Wharton, or HYPS for that matter, it really means crap. Also: “Member of honor council(non-cheating committee 6 members) chairman in 12th grade” pretty much either implies that everyone cheats or that you specifically do if you have to make it clear what an honor council is, then again, maybe you should look up that definition…

If you canceled APAH, what makes you think you’re going to do better on any of the other courses you want to load up on the next few years.

Oh and one more thing, your school is not competitive at all, if you want competitive look at TJ, and other elitist schools. Also you didn’t even get the stats right… your school sent 2 to Penn… CAS in the past 2 years, and in 06 they actually was one Wharton/Huntsman.. not to mention he had a perfect SAT score, took way more challenging classes, and went to Nationals for Envirothon.

Your GPA/APs/ECs aren’t gonna save you with those SAT scores. You’re gonna need to improve 300 points imo to even have a chance at the middle to top of the list. You’re also gonna need 3 high SAT IIs along with that SAT score. Class rep and historian are fluff positions and are meaningless. Being a member of an honor society means you were willing enough to fill out an application and pay the dues.

I agree with the above poster, If you canceled AP Art History, what makes you think you’re gonna do any better on AP Biology on top of a harder course load?
Also if you are hispanic and speak spanish, why did you take Spanish 1-3 for speakers when you could have gone straight to AP Spanish?

If your PSAT score = SAT score, all those schools are gonna be reaches with the exception of UM and UF (even then idk).

I don’t think there’s a correlation between how long you’ve been on the forum and your stats’ predictability. You still can’t really determine anything if you don’t have SAT results, which don’t seem too solid from what I see with your PSATs.

I also don’t consider 2 students in 3 years ‘very competitive’, if ‘many others’ is also 2 students per college in the same time frame then the school is really not that competitive.

Also just saying you will take so and so many APs doesn’t mean anything; if you’ve only taken 3 history APs and had to cancel a score, you can’t predict how the others will turn out, not to mention that isn’t very impressive.

Only at the end of junior year will you be able to have accurate predictions so you should work on those SATs and come back for judgment later.

I’m going to have to agree with the above posters; your top 5 schools are definitely all reaches. Far reaches.

Most of your EC’s are pointless and uninformative. I’m pretty sure there was a kid with a severe mental disorder at my school in more honor societies than you, so I wouldn’t be flaunting that list like it’s something special. The only stand-out EC you have is Honor Council, but the way you described it makes it sound pretty pretentious more than anything else.

Plus, so many of the stats you put down are speculative. The only hard facts, your psat and ap scores, point more towards a Florida state school than any of the private universities you listed. I’d make sure to include FSU and maybe UCF on your list as well; you can never be too careful.

Work on getting your SAT scores (way) up and come back this time next year if you want a more thorough prediction.
