Rising Senior For LACs (and a few others)

Hey everyone,

White, Male, Junior
West Virginia resident

I just got my ACT scores back. I got a 34 composite, with a 35 in English, 35 in Reading, 30 in Math, and 36 in Science.

The only other standardized test that I've taken is the PSAT, which I got a 207 on. This is low, but I live in West Virginia, so that will be enough for me to qualify for National Merit Semifinalist.

My classes so far:

7th: Algebra 1 (for high school credit)

8th: Geometry, French 1 (for high school credit)

9th: Algebra 2, French 2, Guitar, Gym, English 9, Science 9, American History, Journalism

10th: French 3, Honors English 10, Driver's Ed, Advanced Biology, Journalism 2, Media, American History 1900-00, World History

11th: AP English Language, AP History, AP Psychology, Environmental Earth Science, Chemistry, Media 2, College Algebra, College Trig (both through WVU)

12th: (planned) AP Civics, AP English Lit, Media 3, French 4, and then 4 classes at local community college (Intro to Business, Psych, Sociology, and a fourth class second semester)

I've gotten straight A's all throughout high school. My GPA is 4.15

It may not seem like many, but I've actually taken all of the AP Classes available to me, and the only ones that I wont take next year are Calculus and AP Chem.

Extracurriculars:
-Member of Student Council, Student Council Executive Board, French Club, and French Honorary
-Class President sophomore, junior, and senior years

-Held minor leadership roles in French Club. for example, international banquet chairperson. French Honorary Society President.

-My school doesn’t induct members into the National Honor Society until senior year, but I think that it’s very likely that I will be a member. I actually plan on running for NHS office.
-I went to West Virginia’s Governor’s Honors Academy
-I worked 15-20 hours per week at Outback Steakhouse for 4 months.
I now work at my local library.

Colleges I'm Considering:

Swarthmore (1st choice)
Amherst
Haverford
Macalester
Harvard
Brown
NYU
Reed
University of Pittsburgh (safety)

Also, if you could give me any suggestions as to how to improve my chances of acceptance this late in the game, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!
