Rising Sophomore For uChicago!

Let me apologize in advance for such a long post.

My dream school is uChicago! I know I’ve only completed my Freshmen year and a lot is certain to happen within the span of the next three years but I wanted to ask the community for some advice.

At the moment: I have an unweighted GPA of 4.00 so I’ve basically gotten all A’s in all Honor classes with two AP classes (scores yet to be released for exams). I am currently ranked 56/808 in my grade level (messed up a bit in my first semester).

On to my extracurriculars…
I have worked with the administration at my school to found a conpetitive branch for our school’s Technology Student Association. I have also founded our school’s gardening and composting program. I’m currently in the process of setting up many partnerships amongst clubs and founding a Mock Trial program. I have applied to a law firm for an internship (surprisingly they gave me a shot at an interview but I didn’t make it obviously).
I am the Vice President of FBLA, President of Green Team, Chairman of TSA, Student Council, Sophomore Leadership Team member (40 total members from grade levels), Math Team, Debate Club, UNICEF Club, Robotics Business Team and Sponsorship Head, and I run Track!

I have also completed 4 courses on Coursera:
Environmental Law from UNC (98.6%)
Neuroscience from Duke (89.9%)
Financial Markets from Yale (95.6%)
Moral Foundations of Politics (98.8%)

I plan on applying to GHP and getting even more involved in our school by joining Model UN (must be at least Sophomore in our school). I am going to keep pursuing AP classes with almost a guarantee of maintaining my 4.0.

I completely forgot to mention that I have 70 volunteer hours racked up for Freshmen year at a refugee camp where I teach kids to write and read. I am also the Student Delegate at the Gwinnett (GA) Clean and Beautiful Association. I am also applying for a Regional and State Officer Position for FBLA.

Hi there! I was accepted EA this year and am headed to UChicago in the fall, and we have similar interests and ec backgrounds, so I may be able to help you out. I can tell you now that this is too early to be asking these questions, but you look like you are headed on the right track. I would not worry about this now. Wait until you are at least one more year before you ask these questions. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the school, but know that you are fine where you are right now.

It’s hard to judge right now, but I commend you for being proactive! I’d say to wait until mid junior year to start chance threads
