I received my acceptance letter to RIT in February and when i log in on my portal, in the left corner in "Your next steps" section it still asks me to apply. I just wanted to check my financial aid status and see if any additional documents are required. Did anyone else experience this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

When I called tech support about trying to figure out if my son had yet been granted any financial aid, they said to call admissions. That seems to be the easiest way to navigate through this, and I did get my answer. It wasn’t the answer I wanted. I was told that they wouldn’t have an answer or even an estimate before visiting this weekend. I wanted to know if the school was going to make a financially viable offer before I took two days off from work and spent $500 so my son and I could visit. I was told that we should visit anyway, because most students visit before they see their financial aid package, anyway. The money and time is mine, anyway, and won’t come out of RIT’s pocket.

Last year, my nephew took one look at RIT’s package and crossed the school off his list, which is what concerns me, but we’re going to visit anyway, because this is the last time that it is practical for both he and I from a schedule standpoint.

Now that I’m done venting, call admissions. They’ll direct you to the person who can answer your question.

Mz1059, we had the same issue. We emailed RIT’s financial aid office to gind out the status. They told us they were missing DS 's social security number. We called financial aid and gave them the ssn. Not sure why they didnt have it to begin with - he applied thru the common app along with several other schools- all the others had it. Perhaps it was something he missed on the supplement.
