Roaches at UTD apartments?

I don't mean to be disrespectful but can someone please clarify the previous reported roach infestation/black mold problem at the UTD apartments. I read an official UTD report about ithe roaches from several years ago. Are roaches still a big problem at the campus apartments? What about safety, mold and repairs?

no roaches at any of the apartments i’ve lived in. i did have ants last semester in the bathroom, but it’s gone now. terminix was pretty useless, so i had to get rid of them myself. Phase 1-3 are the older apts, so there will be more problems than the other phases I assume. I live in phase 3, and there is nothing wrong with my apt, aside from the incense smell from the previous people that wont go away

My daughter loves her apartment and plans to hang on to it til graduation. The apartment had been thoroughly cleaned/repainted/repaired before moving in. A few minor repair glitches remained and were promptly fixed.

No roaches - trust me I’d have heard that one - no black mold either.

I am so happy to hear it. I came across an old newspaper article from a Dallas paper and then read the administrations response. It was an OLD article 2005, but it was scary. I’m glad things are o.k… I do understand that there are more bugs in the south because they don’t freeze like here, but I was scared.

I also read that, but the good thing is that next freshman get separate housing in the new residence halls.
