Road Test

Taking my road test sometime next month, pretty nervous. Any tips? or stories about your road test?

LOL, my road test was driving about 5-10 minutes around the block. Gotta love DC.

My road test was kind of sketchy. I happened to turn onto a poorly-signed street at the exact moment it was occupied by a street sweeper vehicle and two huge trucks carrying dirt. All driving kind of in the middle of the road. It freaked me out.

Also, I accidentally got onto the freeway instead of staying on the frontage road… but I handled it well and only lost points for not following directions.

I forgot to signal pulling out of the spot to start the test and parallel parked about 2 feet away from the curb–still managed to only get 15 points. I’m from Westchester also, I took it at White Plains, which is actually very easy. Unless you’re intimidated by city driving, almost all the turns have traffic lights, and the 3-point turn road is incredibly wide.

Good luck! You will be nervous, but try to show the instructor you know how to drive, and that nervousness is purely incidental. Also, make sure they put their seatbelt on.
