Roadtrippin to Davis - What to do?

Ok, well I will be roadtripping to davis from SD. What is there to do up there. I wont be able to go to the decision day, but i will be in davis on the 11th. I plan to go to this school, so what should I check out while I’m there - how long will it take, etc. I also got into Cal poly slo, should I check that out aswell? What neat little places r good to stop at between davis and sd (i figure alot). Thanks.

Unless your positive your not going to go to SLO I'd definitely check out both campuses. I've applied to both too but haven't heard from Davis yet and was rejected from SLO. I love both campuses but honestly prefer Davis as it's closer to home and everything and everyone I know. However, SLO also has a gorgeous campus and its near the beach and I would've also been very happy with going there as well. I don't know either place well enough to suggest places to check out but I do recommend checking out both campuses if you're still unsure about which your going to attend.

If you're going to SLO, dont forget to check out Pismo Beach, It's an awesome beach!!!

To be honest, if you're taking the 5 up to Davis, there isn't going to be much between north LA county and Sacramento, lol. The drive is pretty scenic, but boring. If you want to have places you can stop at (tourist attractions etc.), you'd have to take a pretty huge detour and take the 101 (which would incidentally take you through SLO) and then hop on the 680 to the 80. Just a word of caution, this'll add at least another 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours to your trip.

When you get to Davis, I'm assuming you'll do a campus tour, but you should also do some exploring on your own.. grab lunch on campus at the MU (memorial union) or the Silo, sneak into one of the big lecture halls & pretend you're in that class. For the ultimate Davis excitement, stand in the center of one of the bike circles on campus between 11:50am-12:10pm - I recommend the bike circle by the silo & the chem building.

Then you can explore the small Davis downtown area... full of restaurants, boutiques, and places to get your hair cut. Then when you've decided there is nothing super fun to do in Davis, discover the hidden paint-ball, sky-diving, & rock climbing centers, or go bowling on campus.

mwhaha I'll totally join paint-ball! fun stuff ;) Don't know about sneaking into a lecture though lol...doesn't seem like much fun :P

I say take the 1, PCH. May take longer but at least you'll have something to do. Me and my friends were gonna do that except I've recently decided to defer on getting a car.

taking the 1 would take wayyyyy longer :\ but if you have the time then yes, choose it over the other highways cuz its prettier and cooler :P

There's a place to go skydiving in Davis? o.o;

lol well jessica, is there not sky everywhere? :P

=P Well Paul, for the sake of argumentation, I'll have to say: no.

Lol I've never been skydiving before, but a part of me has always wanted to. :]

Same :3 but the other part tells me that some people fall to there deaths lol

Well its about a 1:200,000 chance of dying from skydiving.

Lol Carpe diem! Let's gooo lol. Maybe we should start out with the climbing wall and work our way up--into the sky lol.

Haha I've been reading too much poetry. Has anyone seen Dead Poets Society? :]

Hated it...

Not a fan of Robin Williams or something? =P

Yup... Davis has sky diving... I'm surprised you didn't all know about it ;)
