Every state has different rules for selection, notification and follow up action. The best I can suggest is to contact your state coordinator with any questions. Here is the link to the list of state coordinators

cawrd… finally found the letter…it does say May 7 2010 is notification date for alabama and only those awarded will receive a letter. so unless they are running late i guess no byrd here.

Have any NC residents heard anything?

i was wrong. Son received letter today (alabama) dated 5/7/10, mailed 5/13/10… and forms due back 5/21/10.

Glimmer 1991 - i have not heard anything from NC but anxiously waiting. Please post if you hear anything…thanks.

Just got the letter in MO

Anyone heard who lives in NJ?

Anyone in NC??? I saw last year was posted the 24th, so that’s tomorrow!!! I really hope I get this; it’s the biggest scholarship I’d get…

Actually it was the 26th last year in NC…sorry

I thought I missed the application or something…guidance counselor told me I was the only one in my school to qualify and so she sent in the forms in March…told me in April. :D

anyone heard back yet from california??

On the Robert C. Byrd Site for North Carolina ([Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship](http://www.ncpublicschools.org/recruitment/scholarships/byrd/)), it says that ALL APPLICANTS should have been notified of their statuses by last Friday, the 21st. Apparently, though, nobody from North Carolina has heard anything (whether that be win or lose). So, what gives?

Glimmer-I called last week and they said it wouldn’t be the 21st as posted that they would try to get it posted early the following week. I hope we hear something soon:)

Thanks for the update…if I don’t hear by Wed. I am going to call.
Best of luck to all the north carolinians and everyone else still waiting!

Hey, guys.

I called the guy from NC today and he said that all the letters were sent out today. However, he also said that if you hadn’t heard anything, you probably weren’t a recipient.

I’m #1 in my class, 2240 SAT, 33 ACT, 4.0 GPA Unweighted, 5.12 GPA Weighted. Didn’t get one, apparently. Good luck to the rest of you guys!

Just got notification in snail mail.
Good luck to everyone waiting!

If the letters were just sent out today, then how would we have heard already?

tz, in nc?

:(

Hey Glimmer can you explain what you meant. If the letters were just mailed how else would we have heard?? Email, I guess? I don’t understand. Thanks

He gave me no explanation other than, “We sent out the letters today. If you haven’t heard, though, you probably weren’t a recipient.” So, I have no idea. I’m assuming the recipients got an e-mail. I also asked him if he could tell me what the GPA/SAT/Rank cutoffs were and he said he couldn’t discuss them. Oh well.

thanks…this has been a frustrating year. Applications…waiting…it’s almost over. I wish you the best.:)

Indeed it has…I didn’t get a letter today, so I’m expecting nothing…
