dang that sucks, I wish my state did that :(

My state (CA) just gives you a pure number: GPA/SAT score. Lol, so sucky

So basically all they see is my name and 4.0/2350 next to it.

nothing else. lame.

(Georgia) When will nominees find out and how?

Here’s a posting from June 6, 2005:

We called the Dept. of Education (who chooses) and the Georgia State Finance Commission (who administers). We were told announcements would be made in June (by GSFC) and in August (by DOE).

I found out today from my school that I am a recipient of the scholarship. It’s $1500 per year, renewable for up to 4 years.

I live in Nevada.

congrats dottified!!!

Thanks. :)

anyone know when they will announce for Texas?

Does anyone know anything about Utah’s Byrd Scholarship? I am really stressing about this because this will probably be the only scholarship i would get. I have a 32 and a 3.996 but there are people with higher ACT and GPA than me in my school. But we didn’t do the nominating thing for our school so I’m wondering what’s going to happen. STRESS!

Luck you dottified!

Here’s information for Utah.

[Early College](http://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/Early_College/Byrd.htm)

Looks like you have to submit an application. It says that Utah is still waiting for grant funds and hasn’t notified anyone yet.

I had a long discussion this morning about OH Byrd scholarships with the state administrator. I was told that the state did not yet know exactly how much money it was getting so they could not release the new awards. The process involves figuring out how much money the state will need to support the current folks with their awards and then the remaining money will be assigned to the new recipients. Since this is the largest graduating class ever, it would not be surprising if fewer recipients receive the awards.

thanks sharonohio

Texas usually sends out letters in early June. Only recipients are notified.

thanks fireflyscout!

Anyone know about Minnesota?

^Yeah, Minnesota, anyone?

Anybody know anything about LA?

My son learned Saturday that he received it. We live in VA.

Anyone know about California’s notification?
We have called several times and the phone lines are always busy :(

Lots of states are awaiting Dept of Education funding before they can proceed. Not sure why if this is an annual program?
