I am an international student and I would really wish to be awarded the Robertson Scholarship.
However, we all know that Financial Aid at duke is need-aware for international students.
Does that mean I should NOT apply for financial aid since I am very serious about the Robertson Scholarship?
I am worried that I might be awarded the scholarship but refused admission because financial aid is need-aware.
Should I just not apply for aid?

They are completely independent of each other and it is much harder to win the Robertson than it is to receive financial aid.
Current Duke Student here - I was offered the Robertson to UNC, but took a different scholarship offer to Duke instead. Applying for financial aid has NO bearing on any merit scholarship eligibility from Duke and UNC. Think about it - it’s a full ride - there is obviously no disadvantage to someone that is asking for financial aid.
Don’t worry about it haha. Definitely apply for the aid, and hope for the best
