@hobothecat…Thank you! As are many others, we’re anxiously waiting!
Got accepted today (basically had a heart attack while waiting for the decision to load) and I applied on December 3rd.
@Marylandfour When and how did your S receive his merit aid information? Was it in his portal, via email, or snail mial? Also, congrats to him! Rochester is a great school.
Thanks, aydee115. The merit scholarship arrived about a week after the acceptance letter came.He received an email telling him to check his MYROC account for scholarship news. It was posted in a new section previously not there.
Accepted! Rochester, please give me significant merit aid so I can come! I seriously love this school.
“My dh was like, “It’s so far”, but I told him it was an amazing school. I think I like the fact that the students are happy most of all! We’ll hope for enough aid!”
The school is very close to the airport. My genius left his dorm at 5am for a 6am flight giving me my stress test of the year this past week… He made it with 10 minutes to spare AND there was a line at security delaying him.
We did, however, have a talk about his planning for future flights!
I’m rooting for all of you waiting admission and aid notices. URoc really is a good school…
ACCEPTED!!! I received the email at 8:03 am on the West Coast but I didn’t see it until 2:30 pm because I was at an orchestra competition all day! Thank god that I didn’t see it until later because I would not have been able to focus on anything! University of Rochester is my first college acceptance and I am really EXCITED (Oh and I applied around Jan. 4th if anyone was wondering!) GOOD LUCK to the rest of y’all, I know that it will all work out!!!
Nothing from Rochester today. Did hear from Denison though - waitlisted. I wasn’t upset or disappointed or anything, but it’s opened my eyes that Rochester might be too reach-y for me. I can totally understand if I’m denied/waitlisted. I feel like I have a better chance at waitlist than I do being denied simply because I demonstrated so much interest in the school. No matter what happens though, I still have Kzoo, Wooster, and Case Western to choose from and couldn’t be more excited.
Moved to step 4
@lavalamp97
@jamesjunkers Ooooh finally! Haha I’m excited for you. I’m still on step 3 though.
@jamesjunkers same here! Here is hoping we get in. Good luck!
For those excepted last Monday, like my daughter, she just got an email at 9 AM, with the financial aid information. It’s not in the email, just the link to go check for the information. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m assuming it’s the MyRoc account.
^^ addition to previous post. It is NOT the MyRoc account. The link takes you to a separate page for financial aid. Good luck everyone!
Am I the only one still on step 3?
I’m a freshman rn at U of R. LIVE ON THE QUAD NEXT YEAR!!! Do not live in Sue B. #quadsquad
The quad is so much better. Only thing better about Sue B, is that youve got a dining hall right there. (But douglass is better than dfo anyways so dont worry ) Sue B is so far from everything, and people who live in the quad find friends easier and form more close knit relationships with their hallmates. I’m a little biased cause i currently live on the quad, but I’m so glad that I do. I was randomly placed there, but Im really happy that I was. REQUEST QUAD FRESHIES!!! youll thank me next year. (unless you dont like peoplle and dont want friends. In that case go SueB)
Thank you @ddog888 hahaha that’s actually really good to know!
I’m an international applicant and seeing all the acceptances I’m kinda on the edge… I’ve been on step 4 on myROC for days now and I’m fearing it might be a rejection. I really showed my interest in extra curricular s and my love for track and field and my record in marathons… I had a pretty decent IB predicted… Any idea when they send acceptances and when rejections? Or s it all mixed up…
@shells96 relax - the bulk of the applicants have not yet heard, probably only less than 20% of acceptances have heard back. There are plenty of slots still remaining, I know it’s stressful but everyone should hear in the next 2 weeks. There is only a small subset of the entire applicant pool stressing on this forum and sometimes that exacerbates the stress. Take a deep breath, and everyone will know about all of their schools in the next 2 weeks.
Hi guys. I’m still on step 4 and noticed that on my IDOC, URoc. was recently added. Is the IDOC required for all applicants?
There’s no official answer to that - UR only picks certain applicants for IDOCs, but we do not know how they pick…
