**Rochester 2019 RD Discussion Thread!**

if you got a merit scolarship, does it come in an email that says that you should check your portal because your decision is ready?

You get an email from the director of admissions saying "I love my job, because I get to ‘tell’ you that the University of Rochester will award you a scholarship when you enroll!

You’ll find the details in your MyROC account at http://enrollment.rochester.edu/myroc."

I see. Does he send one right after your decision or does it take a few days?

about a week or so.

Right I already got the merit thing, but i haven’t gotten anything for my need based aid

The people who received merit aid and financial aid package- could you please share the numbers? How much in aid did you get ??

Pls see this post in another thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-rochester/1749556-university-of-rochester-financial-aid-for-class-of-19.html#latest

Are there any transfers that has been accepted or still waiting? Congrats on the acceptance everyone =]

So I got in, whooo! So just a couple questions, will I still get a letter in the mail? Financial aid will come in soon right? Lastly, how awesome is it that they personalize the acceptance message a little bit? I really liked that touch.

Also, how good can I expect the financial aid to be? income is >40K with one other kid in college and two other dependents. I’m #2 in my class and got a 2040 on the SAT, 4.0 unweighted GPA. Can I expect a large merit scholarship too? I really wanna go but I need the loans to be less than 8K a year

I wanted to send a follow up reply. I appreciate the advice and support many of you posted this winter while we were all waiting. My son was accepted to U of R in the second batch. However, after receiving the financial package we’ve decided he’s not attending. The truth of the matter is the amount U of R is expecting us to pay (35,000) is just not possible. We have 3 other children to follow…and we just don’t feel that accumulating that amount of debt is a smart decision…especially when his plan is to attend med school. He is going to be attending U at Buffalo…he received 3k in merit scholarship and will be getting free tuition on top of that (studying a stem area/graduating in the top 10% of his class). Good luck to all of you who will be attending. For those of you who were “rejected”…I truly believe it just wasn’t meant to be. Keep your chin up:)

@ghostalgic On your myROC, are you on Step 5?

For people that got waitlisted, does their myROC say they are on step 5 or still on step 4?

Step 5, yours @sorbet ?

@bangladesh1997 mine is also on step 5… I was just wondering since if you’re waistlisted, technically you are still waiting for a decision. :-<

Going to the Science Symposium today and RIGS luncheon tomorrow. Anyone else attending?

So, we left town at 2PM Central on 3/27 with still no word. Arrived LGA about 5PM and D turned on phone to emailed acceptance! Glad we found out before leaving country! She is going to admitted student day 4/17. As of now it is either UR or Case.
