Rochester Institute of Technology VS University of Albany SUNY

Hello, so I have gotten accepted as a transfer student to both these universities for computer science major among others but chose these two as my final. They are both giving me the same transfer credits and everything.

Albany is giving me EOP as where RIT is telling me I’d have to wait until August to see if I get into HEOP and if I don’t I’d have to wait til there is space available.

So basically I want to know, is it worth going to RIT considering it is more expensive and I’ll have to take out loans regardless of my acceptance to HEOP or not? Would it make a difference on my resume to have RIT as opposed to SUNY Albany?

I like RIT because of their Co-op but also dislike it because it holds me back a year from graduating and it’s ultimately the only reason why I’m considering it. I visited both and they both seemed ok and I have friends in both school telling me to attend their school because it is amazing.

Thank you in advance for helping me with my dilemma.

Sorry no one is answering you. In our opinion RIT (hopefully) will be worth it. Our son was deciding between Wheaton College in Norton MA and RIT. The availability of Co-ops every summer and the experience one gains AND to put on a resume is worth the extra 3 thousand a year and 8 hour drive to get there. he is going to study Bioinformatics and just a few colleges in the NE have this as a major. We’re excited! good luck in this difficult decision
