Rolling admissions.

I'm planning on applying to penn state as soon as possible. I have a 3.2 gpa and a 26 w/writing and 27 without (ACT). I'm a female applying for a biomedical engineering major. My question is whether I should wait until my test results from the sept ACT date come back or just apply now with my scores. I have a lot of extracurricular (robotics team, soccer, job, misc volunteer work) and I think I can sell myself in a personal essay (I didn't have it easy growing up and I screwed myself over by not realizing I needed to work hard until I was a junior). I also took 7 IB classes last year and 5 this year, transferred to a new school my junior year, and managed to go from a small Christian school to a massive public school. So should I wait, or would it make sense to chance it and hope applying early helps!

If you will do some prep for the ACT so it comes in higher that will help some. Right now your grades are in the bottom 20% of admitted students.

I’m sure that Penn State weights IB classes; is your 3.2 an unweighted GPA?

I would wait for the Sept ACT scores. Your app would still be in before Nov 1. I would think that you’ll need a high math score to get into University Park. Consider a branch campus with a guaranteed transfer.

Yes

My 3.2 gpa is unweighted.
