Any thoughts on best time for different types of students to apply to a rolling admissions school? I have my theories on early action but this is the first child I will be dealing with rolling admissions schools. For instance if a school is in the target zone should you apply first thing in the fall senior year for your best chances at merit aid? what if its a reach? If its a reach and you apply early are they more likely to defer or deny because of the possible pool of applicants yet to apply? I know there is no exact answer but was wondering what the theories are out there?
Thanks for sharing any thoughts you may have... - L

I think a general rule is that the later you apply, the less money there is to go around for those who need aid.
