My daughter noticed that there is a column the common app dashboard called “rolling admissions” with dates such as Jan 1. None of the schools she is applying to (RD to small LACs) mention anything about this. Anyone know anything? Thanks!
Rolling admissions is typically available from large state universities that want to fill a large class (hundreds to a few thousand acceptances) first come first serve. It is not common at small LACs or at schools that are very selective.
It is like EA in that you get an answer before March but don’t have to commit until May 1. Both rolling and EA options are great for safety or match schools where you want to lock down an acceptance then reach.
Rolling schools may have a priority deadline which ensures greater access to financial aid, scholarships, or housing choices.
Thank you for responding. I am familiar with rolling admissions, thats why I was surprised to see it listed on the common app with her LACs along with dates. Anyone else notice this on their childs common app page?
