Does Michigan do admissions on a rolling basis?

yes.......

sorry...i know this is a dumb question....but what exactly does that mean?

That means that the earlier you apply, the earlier to hear back from the university. It also means that the response time slows down the later you apply.

Those who apply earlier and therefore get admitted earlier, assuming they decide to comit to Michigan immediately, have priority chosing their dorms and fall semester classes.

All things being equal, your chances of getting in are better if you apply early in the cycle.

Finally, Universities that have rolling admissions do not have ED/EA options.

oh, ok thanks, so does that mean you can apply multiple times if you are rejected?

I don't think you can apply more than once to a rolling admissions school in a year

so if you apply early and get rejected, you cant apply regular?

There's no such thing as early or regular for rolling, all app are considered as they are received and usually the uni will give out the decisions as they are made.

oh..ok...thanks

helpmegetin, you did not read my post carefly. My 4th and finalpoint above stresses that schools with rolling admissions do not have EA/ED options. That means you can only apply once during one admissions cycle. Generally speaking, most applicants are deferred and get the final decision from the University in March or April.

oh...right...for some reason i thought if you got deferred you had to apply again to get considered again...i get it now..thanks

When will University of Michigan start accepting applications?

probably as soon as the new application goes up in august...
