Within a month is the norm for my daughter & others at her high school...Some applied in Oct & got a reply within a month; others applied November & heard back in December...

Top ten admission can take as little as a day from the receipt of all required materials (I was accepted and had yet to submit my essays).

Texas residents from outside the top ten are also admitted on a rolling basis if they are well-qualified enough, but many have to wait until April. The same goes for out-of-state US applicants.

I don't know if international admission is rolling because they have a limited number of places. So I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

Yes, like loneranger said, if you are oos, but an outstanding candidate, you will hear quickly, if not, you'll hear in March or April.

My son's roommate is from Indiana, last year he knew he was in the business school by November, but he was a Val, 2300 SAT, NMF, athlete, with tons of awards and activities. He was a slam dunk.

Legacy doesn't matter at ALL for UT. There is no place for it in the formula at all. The hook is the overall combination of SAT scores, class rank, and personal achievement which convince the admissions panel that even though you are out of state your data will admit you. I believe that those areas of the admissions graph which will be admitted for sure get letters sooner, while those on the edges of the admitted area (those with the most people, as well) hear back later.

Decisions are posted on Status Check as well as mailed. I wasn't expecting my decision when I got it so I actually received it snail mail first.

Is there anyone else who is growing restless and just wants to know whether or not they have been accepted already? I never knew waiting to hear from colleges would be this difficult.
