Rollover Transfer Applicant questions/ first post.

Hello all,

Is there anyone on here that can tell me how admission works for a rollover transfer applicant?

The reason I ask is I applied to the College of A/S for the Spring semester, obviously was not accepted, but was permitted to roll my application over to the fall. I was told that I could be considered for admission to McIntire as well but SIS only listed the CLAS application. Yesterday, my community college sent out an email congratulating the students accepted and wait listed to the school of Commerce. I was on neither list. I plan to assume that I was denied admission to the McIntire school but is there any way to know for sure if my application was even evaluated for that program?

Do not get me wrong if I get offered off of the waitlist for CLAS I will be overjoyed and accept immediately but the last two semesters I focused on the McIntire requirements. If I was not reviewed for that program it makes the news a little more harsh.

Any general advice for those that have been accepted from the waitlist at UVa is also welcome. Sorry for the long post.

Thanks,

A little bit more about me:

Non-traditionally aged student
Veteran
A.S. Degree from JTCC- language requirement not met, not eligible for GAA
Working on a second A.S. from PVCC
Both with competitive GPA
Three letters of recommendation, one professional, two academic
(one for McIntire, other for CLAS)
In-state student (C-ville)
Accepted to UVA Summer Language program to fulfill language requirement.

I went through the same transfer/rollover application process in 2006, although not for the McIntire school. I can tell you from experience that none of my information on the online application status page updated from the time I received my first denial until the time I received my acceptance for Fall. When you mailed in your letter requesting to have your application rolled over did you specifically note that you wanted to be considered for McIntire? If you did, I would consider speaking with someone in Admissions. I found them to be very helpful throughout my contact with them.

As far as McIntire is concerned, I can only say I know competition among students is very high. I entered CLAS as a 2nd year, and the faculty/staff who ran summer orientation made it very clear to us that if we were banking on going into McIntire that we should have a back-up.

Hey
Thank you for responding to my question, I took your advice and contacted admissions. They were indeed very helpful. Thank you very much.
