ooo. I see. I'm not applying to any of those..I don't know I went to Harvard Summer School; it was okay..the people seem to uptight! & Columbia is tooo big! I love MIT, but I had my doubts on admission because my SAT score's were really bad. So I didn't apply, even though I had an interview & everything..I feel bad, but I knew I wouldn't get in! Maybe Grad school, or transfer in! Anyway, yale is gorgeous! & I haven't seen ne of the other top schools.

yay, the thread made it to 2 pages...i was scared it would fail.

but anywho, i think it's silly that they make us wait until the end of january to see if they've received our apps...but such is life.

I applied to HY. I wonder if there's an advantage to letting them know you were accepted into an ivy through EA or ED since they basically brag about how a large percentage of their scholars attend HYPSM. Just a thought...

you'llsee...: hehehhe I told them I had been accepted :p

My parents are actually a little ticked, now, that I didn't apply to HYP ..
Lol...Whatever.

hmm, I thought about it, but I didn't know if it would help or just make me seem pretentious. And I wasn't even sure where I'd put it (awards???).

Ah, I can't wait to hear back from them!

ps: good luck with Emory, paradycia! I have friend who goes there; he absolutely loves it!

Hehe, thanks -- I'm excited, but i don't think I can afford to go ... really crossing my fingers for outside scholarships !

paradycia- i understand what u mean! i thought it was only me! my parents all they talk about is the ivies but i wanna go to a school i like and not just because of the name. i hope i made the right choice. i think i did : )

Ah, my parents aren't American, so they don't know much about the Ivies except that they're great schools with great networking circles. They didn't pressure me or anything, but they thought I should've applied just for the hell of it. (pointless essays & applications, imo)

Hehe, hope your choice works out for ya btw :)

Thanks!, u too! (My parents aren't American either; I'm first generation here.)

I applied for the Ron Brown back in November :D

good luck everyone!

I applied for the January dead line because I did find out about it until Dec.
I applied to the University of Chicago and got in EA so I found no reason to apply elsewhere. (UC is my dream come true)

I think I have a good chance and am really hoping to get this.
And good luck to all. (but we all know that if it comes down to it we would probably preverbally trip the other people to get this. lol)

I just got my notification that they recived my application materials.

i still didn't get mine yet. Darnit! LamiaServatrix- when did you send your application materials? The November or January deadline?

January.
I sent it the 7th or 8th I believe

Okay, I sent it the 9th so I should be getting it soon I guess. Where are you from? Because I live in Boston, most likely it will take forever to get here! (eh..i'm freaking out!) (lol)

They are in Virginia and I am in Central Illinois

hmm..okay. thanx.

bumping! <3

So, I just came back from Washington, D.C. for the March For Life (which is for people who are pro-life) I was kinda in the middle of the issue on my way there, but I feel like I'm still in the middle; I kind of wanted something to dramatically change my mind about being in "the middle" (half pro-choice, half pro-life). If anybody else is strong about this issue, can you tell me your reasons why you are one side rather then the other? (I know this is soo randomn, but it's a method of distraction soo we won't think about the scholarship too much (lol) I'm dying to find out. lmao.
