Room change help!!! Indiana University Bloomington

Does anyone have any experience with getting a room change at Indiana University? I am a freshman and it’s only been about a week and a half, but I know this situation isn’t working out for me. I feel very uncomfortable in my room, and because of some mental health issues (mainly anxiety and depression), I need to have tis fixed asap. I would prefer to have a single, but if that is impossible I would just switch to a room with a roommate I have more in common with.

I have talked to my RA about this, but they said that no changed are likely until semester. I am in an LLC which makes things more complicated, but at this point I will do almost anything to get out of my room.

Any help is so greatly appreciated!!!

Hang in there and focus on school/academics, or at least use your roommate unease as motivation to do more socially outside the dorm - get involved in groups, workout at the rec center, etc.

The IU student health center is good - if mental health issues are affecting your adjustment I assume you were referring to yourself and not your roommate), seek their help before seeking a new roommate.
