Going to Ikea or Target or something this week to start shopping for my daughter's dorm room. She's living in Broward--I assume X-long twins. Are the rooms all a neutral color paint? We visited and they all seemed to be neutral. I know you can't hang pictures with nails--don't they have the tack boards going around the room? How can you hang pictures of your friends from home?

You can hang pictures using wall tack (it looks similar to this: [Roberts Crafts | Blue Stik Reusable Adhesive Putty | 1 Ounce](http://robertscrafts.com/default.aspx?PageID=47&CategoryID=439&ProductID=15827)). I got 2 packages of it at a local walmart for $2 each before Freshman year, and that was more than enough.

As for paint, they’re all pretty neutral- I think the color is supposed to white. Students can only paint their rooms in non-renovated dorms (Deviney, Dorman, Smith, Kellum) and have to use university-approved paint and get it from Cawthon hall.

I recommend Twin XL sheets. That’s what the university recommends and that’s what size most (if not all) of the mattresses are. I also suggest investing in a mattress pad.

You can also use the 3M product to hang things:COMMAND. The hooks and strips work great and come right off after you are done at the end of the year. They hold picture frames and heavier things.

Some of the wall tack is better than others at coming off. We like Sticky-Tack.
