Roomate question

My roommate and I are not close. I would not even call us friends. I clearly so not like her, but I try to keep things PC and diplomatic.

Today I came into our room and she had her dirty duffel bag on my bed. ( Our beds are across the room from each other.)

I asked her not to put her stuff on my bed please and she simply whispered "Sorry".

Am I overreacting because I feel like a bed is a sanctuary and to infringe on that is a sign that she does not respect me or my personal space.

Now I know I can be high maintenance at times, which I am sure my roommate hates about me. But,

Do you think it would be overreacting to pursue getting a single dorm next semester?

Do you think my view points and assumptions are overreacting?

Also would like to hear from people with similar experiences.

If this is the worst problem you’ve had with RM, you’re overreacting.

lol no its not the worst but it is the “straw that broke the camels backs”

I had a random roommate that I was put with since it is my Freshman year and I understand where you’re coming from. It was quite an adjustment when her room is a mess and she sleeps at odd hours in the day so I must be quite, but I feel like everyone has problems with their roommate and you’re really lucky if that is you’re only problem!!

Meh, I didn’t have HUGE problems with my first-semester roommate, but I still switched rooms at semester. I tried to get a single room, but couldn’t. So I wound up with another roommate, who I didn’t really like, but we didn’t talk or acknowledge each other at all so I figured it was an improvement.

It was a little awkward telling my roommate I was leaving, but whatever. I could have stayed with her, but all my friends lived in a different dorm and I wanted to be closer to them. If you aren’t happy, move.

Honestly, one of my roommates and I never really talked. Just try to work things out the best you can and once the year ends you won’t have to talk to them anymore if things don’t work out.
