I'm not applying to Exeter, either! LOLZ!

hey, it's number 4... YEA!!

me neither, thats 5!

make that 6....

How hard is to bond with your roommate depends on you and your rooommate and how outgoing/shy you were. For me, it was kind of awkward the first month or so. My roommate was a returning student, I was new. She had her friends, I had no friends, lol. She was outgoing and talkative, I was shy and hated talking to people that I didn't know. We ended up being really good friends, though we did have our fights.

My son started school several days earlier than his roommate as he was there for fall sports camp, so he had lots of friends/acquaintances before the roommate showed up. I am happy about this, because he and his roommate have nothing in common. It works out well for freshman year, because my son says they never even speak to eachother. This is good because, if my son was in a room with one of his friends, he would fool around instead of getting his hw done!

hahahaha after reading keylyme's post ive gotta say that would be true for me too=]].im pretty sure most days i would be fooling around with my roommate, which would not be good...

I just have two conditions: No excessive smells (like some people spray cologne all over the room) and a tolerance to light late at night (i read books till like 1am). It's not bright or anything, it's a booklight that's the size of a quarter, but there are those people that could be asleep and they instantly wake up at a tiny light.

My son had to fill out a form stating general preferences in a roommate. It was pretty generic though...quiet/noisy; messy/neat/middle of the road; type of music you like; hobbies/interests; do you like a nightlight or complete darkness.

Nightlight?
Hahahaha, really?

My son laughted too, but some people probably aren't used to complete darkness, especially if they live in an urban area.

Really! Would any kid put YES? I sure wouldn't and would learn in the time I have left, lol!

WOW!!!
a nightlight?
that's news to me! :)

I don't know; I am just thinking that is why they asked. Maybe so it wouldn't drive you nuts if you had a roommate that stayed up reading with a booklight or something...

hmmmm, it's possible deffinatley.

I stay up reading for about 2-3 hours everynight, but Im usually in the study, I have never used a booklight....it should be fun!
Its making me feel like a secret agent right now! hahahahah
