Rooming with someone with same major??

So I got into the pre-med track (neuroscience) and I was wondering if I could request that my roommate would be same major as mine so that, we would be both able to study and concentrate without much of the party scene. (I don't want a roommate that totally party's because for my track I need to really concentrate and work hard, and if my roommate were the same maybe that would help?)

When you sign up for a roommate, there is an interest survey. You may not get a roommate with the same major, but I do think they attempt to match people. last year, my daughter and her roommate were matched fairly well in a suite of eight women. They were the most studious and seemed to have similar personalities and goals.

Last year there was a facebook link to sign up on and get to know other incoming freshman. My daughter talked to several people and they chose each other that way. It has worked out very well. I’m sure someone on CC would know how to sign up.

You could sign up for the pre-med or health sciences living learning community, so your whole floor would be pre-med. I think it’s in Lothrop Hall for freshmen.

vryproudmom’s suggestion is also good too, someone in your incoming class year’s facebook group is bound to be interested in rooming with another premed.

If i had seen your post much earlier.
I’m a neuroscience major, and i’m not too big on the party scene either. I’m studying neuroscience now as we speak. If you’re doing Introductions to Neuroscience this semester, feel free to send me a message, we could study together.

Oh I’m going to be a freshman this fall

I’m sure someone has already posted this link…but here is the facebook group vryproudmom was talking about: [University of Pittsburgh Class of 2015 | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)

We’re in the same situation, except I’m looking for a fellow female engineer to room with (or at least someone who wouldn’t mind living in the engineering LLC)…so I guess we’ll see what happens! Good luck!!
